Change Drupals frontpage, Site Information & Logo
Many people ask, How do I change the front page on a drupal site?
There are a few ways to do it.
As soon as you do one of these, the welcome page will disapear like magic !
While we are at it, the site information needs to be entered.
Change the Front Page by doing any of the following
- Create a page or choose a piece of content on your site. open it for editing, and check mark the box 'promote to front page' in publishing options (at the bottom). Everything you promote will display on the front page.
- Goto: Create Content >> Page and create a page to use for the front page--make a note of the path.
Goto: Site Configuration >> Site Information. at the bottom of the page add the path to your page in the 'Default front page' text box. save it - Views Front Page -views makes a nice front page- You must install and enable Views Module and set permisions first
Goto: Site Configuration >> Site Information. at the bottom of the page add the path 'frontpage' in the 'Default front page' text box. save it.. Then Goto Views and enable the view labeled 'frontpage'. You can customize the frontpage using that view.
NOTE: You can still promote content to the front page with the default views settings. You don't have to do much other than enable the view. This also means that the page you created to use for the front page will still work just fine.
Enter your site information...real easy.. Then you will see your site info in the header.
Goto: Site configuration >> Site Information
Change the Site Logo to your custom work of art. also look at the other settings there...
Goto: Site building >> Themes >> Configure >> Global settings
